Meet the Band
Evan Wright
Vocals, Guitar & Harmonica
My name is Evan Wright and I am the singer/songwriter of Nutmeg & The Firm. I also play the guitar and harmonica.
I quit working as an investment advisor and golf pro in October 2025 to pursue this musical journey full-time. I didn’t get in this to chase fame or fortune; it’s a path of redemption.
There is nothing more rewarding than creating a piece of music that people resonate with. I believe that a truly great song is able to be understood by all listeners through lyrics, melody and beat.
I am thankful to be surrounded by a wonderful group of musicians that are able to make these songs come to life every time you click on our music or come to see us play live.
We look forward to seeing you on the road!
Evan Paul
Bass & VocalsHi, my name is Evan, I’m a libra. I play bass and sing.
I’ve known I was a musician since I was 12 years old. When I first saw Carl Anderson’s performance in the movie “Jesus Christ Superstar” I thought, “That! What he’s doing, is what I want to do with my life!”
I am a lifelong musician and have been practicing frantically ever since. And from one music fan to another, I sincerely hope that you like our stuff as much as I do 😉
Greg Szabo
Lead GuitarMy name is Greg Szabo, and I’m the lead guitarist of Nutmeg & The Firm.
I was raised with Queen and Rush always playing in the car. I picked up the guitar at age 14. This was one of the best decisions of my life! I later discovered bands like Van Halen, Iron Maiden, and Judas Priest. Bands like these have always given me a big and positive energy I get from nothing else. I want to give more of this energy to the world!
People often think metal music is purely dark, but it is really a source of strength us metalheads rely on when we’re going through hard times. It’s also a positive celebration when we’re jamming out to such cool music.
Music portrays what we cannot express with words. Rock music will never die, and we’re just part of the current chapter of musicians putting art into the world. We hope you come have a great time seeing us play, wherever that may be one day. Rock for all, rock forever!!!
Marc Van Beek
Drums & VocalsMy name is Marc Van Beek and I am the man making the beats and the banter in Nutmeg & The Firm.
At the tender age of 12, I knew that I wanted to play drums, as a few of my friends were starting to play guitar and I wanted to help round out the sound. Either that or even as I kid I would simply rather hit things then pluck them 🤣
I played in several bands that gigged and created throughout my teens and early 20s, then took a few years off as life took me in a few different directions.
Recently I have rekindled and gone back to my once lost passion and need for creating, playing, and performing music as an outlet. It all started with a night out on the street in front of a dive bar at 2 AM singing obnoxiously but skillfully with Nutmeg.
Myself and the rest of these animals want you to have as good of a time with our tunes as we do.
