On a late night/early morning in September of 2025, Evan Wright and Marc Van Beek met outside a less-than-noteworthy Toronto establishment when Evan told Marc he was an Oasis fan. Marc did not fully believe him, to which Evan replied by breaking into the first verse of Acquiesce. They then sang the rest of the verse together, and history began to unfold.
During their first jam, Marc told Evan that they should write their own music. A couple weeks later, they got back together with Evan having written multiple songs, including their first two singles, ‘You Are My Rock ‘N’ Roll Star’, and ‘Nothing But Time’.
By that point, Evan had already decided he was going to quit working as a Golf Professional and Investment Advisor to pursue a career of this. Shocked by the songs and Evan’s sudden urge to pursue music like a maniac, Marc decided to get his chops back in order and set out on the journey with Evan that has transformed into Nutmeg & The Firm.
After cycling through many a musician for the better part of 6 months, some which they appreciated and others they certainly do not, Evan stumbled upon another Evan… Evan Paul. A 24-year old bassist with angelic vocals and a hidden ability to play lead guitar as well.
Through connecting more with Evan, the group was led to the savant, the professional, the teacher, Greg Szabo, to fill out the 4-piece unit on lead guitar.
These four gentlemen are now embarked on a mission to conquer the world of rock ‘n’ roll one positive vibration at a time.
